Daniel Gilbert, CPA ABV CVA CFF

Daniel Gilbert Founded Gilbert Valuation in 2006.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Oregon, and has been designated as Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), a business valuation designation of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).

Dan is one of the most experienced business valuation professionals in the Pacific Northwest, having performed more than 1,000 business valuations since 2002. His litigation consulting expertise includes federal and state court testimony on well over 60 occasions.  These matters have included marital dissolution, complex damage analysis, lost profits, business interruption, as well as financial statement forensic analysis. Dan’s extensive business valuation-related experience cuts across multiple industries and includes intangible asset valuations. These assignments have been carried out for purposes of shareholder disputes, marital dissolution, gift and estate tax planning, litigation, ESOPs, stock options, acquisition/divestiture, and re-capitalization.

Dan brings unique attributes to the valuation profession. Complementing his experience and education in business valuation and litigation support, he has decades of experience in the private business sector, which included buying and selling multiple businesses. Through the course of his career, Dan has led finance teams at public and privately held companies within various industries including offshore manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and high-tech. This extensive private sector experience gives Dan a unique client perspective and perhaps, more importantly, his business valuation education is tempered by a quality that cannot be learned in a book: Experience.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys traveling, hiking in the glorious Pacific Northwest, and savoring exceptional wines.

Morgan Gilbert, ASA

Morgan Gilbert is the Managing Partner for Gilbert Valuations. She is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers. Morgan joined her father Daniel at Gilbert Valuations in 2013 after receiving her BA in Theater Performance from Whitworth University.  After several years of working as a business valuation analyst at Gilbert Valuations, Morgan went on to earn her credentials and work as a Business Valuation Manager at a CPA firm in Portland.

Morgan returned to Gilbert Valuations with the intention of becoming the Managing Partner, which she has succeeded in achieving.

As of January 2024, Morgan has performed over 400 business appraisals, contributed to many forensic accounting projects, and testified in court for a juried trial. Morgan’s experience spans many industries and purposes including marital dissolution, estate and gift tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, options granting, partnership buy-outs, acquisition/ divestiture, corporate planning, litigation, damage analysis, and financial statement forensic analysis.

Morgan’s unconventional educational background brings a fresh perspective to the world of finance. As a business appraiser with a background in the arts Morgan has the unique ability to explain the complexities of business valuation to clients and judges free of industry jargon. No two businesses are the same, particularly in the world of small business, which requires creativity and flexibility, attributes Morgan prides herself on.
